Calasparra Rice - Organic Semi Integral D.O.
Calasparra is a rice producing D.O. region of Murcia Spain, which means it meets very strict quality and production standards. The round grain rice is a blend of Balilla and Sollana varietals. When cooked, it increases its size by 70%, absorbing more than 3x the liquid used making it ideal for paella dishes.
This premium semi integral organic rice is a special variety because farmers in the region of Calasparra remove the outer shell of the rice. This process retains many of the nutritional properties of the rice. While brown rice might typically take longer to cook, this rice is special because it has the same cooking properties of white rice.
This traditional rice from Spain is perfect for your favorite rice based Spanish dishes--like paella. It's extra absorben grains will make your rice dishes filled with delicious flavors...just make sure to use a tasty stock.
